OSLO: FOX International Channels (FIC) is bringing its FOX Crime service to Norwegian viewers starting March 21 on Riks TV and Altibox.

The crime and investigation network joins FIC’s existing Norwegian and Scandinavian portfolio, which includes National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel HD, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Wild HD. The service will air 24 hours a day with Norwegian subtitles, featuring a programming lineup that includes Law & Order, The Glades, Fringe, Monk, Rubicon, Warehouse 13 and The Walking Dead, along with crime movies.

"We are very pleased to increase our presence in the Nordic market with the launch of our first entertainment channel," said Jesús Perezagua, the president FOX International Channels Europe. "FOX Crime has been tremendously successful globally by offering some of the best crime and investigation content from the U.S. and around the world on one dedicated channel. The launch of FOX Crime in Norway is a key step in our Nordic expansion strategy. Norway is full of potential, and welcomes innovation. We look forward to expanding our local business there."

“We are delighted to introduce FOX Crime to Norwegian viewers,” added Ase Ytreland, the managing director of FOX International Channels for Nordic and Baltic Regions. “FOX Crime is the first and only dedicated crime entertainment channel in Scandinavia. It’s a strong international channel that we have tailored specifically to the Norwegian market—a winning combination that we think will resonate with Norwegian viewers. FIC is fully committed to Norway—as the establishment of a local office, the hiring of local staff, and now the launch of FOX Crime clearly demonstrate. We plan to become a strong local player offering the world’s best fiction and factual programming to Norwegian viewers."
