LOS ANGELES: In preparation for MIPTV, MarVista Entertainment has wrapped production on Super Eruption, Xtinction: Predator X and A Christmas Kiss, three new features that the company will introduce at the upcoming market.

MarVista’s Super Eruption, which is set to air on the Syfy channel in the U.S., is a 90-minute disaster/thriller movie about the race to stay alive after a super volcano erupts in Yellowstone National Park. The movie was directed by Matt Codd of Epoch and stars MyAnna Buring of The Descent, Richard Burgi of The Sentinel and Juliet Aubrey of Primeval.

In Xtinction: Predator X, a young woman returns home after 20 years to her family’s ailing swamp-tour business in Louisiana, only to find her father has disappeared and a 50-foot dinosaur with razor-sharp teeth has begun terrorizing the swamp. The 90-minute thriller comes from K2 Pictures and stars Elena Lyons of Club Dread, Mark Sheppard of Battlestar Galactica, Lochlyn Munro of Freddy vs. Jason and music rapper Paul Wall.

Meanwhile, MarVista’s romantic comedy A Christmas Kiss is a holiday film about strangers who kiss on an elevator, then later meet again over work and complicate their lives. The 90-minute movie stars Elisabeth Rohm of Law & Order, Brendan Fehr of Roswell and Laura Breckenridge of Gossip Girl.

Along with these recently wrapped films and the five already announced movie acquisitions, MarVista will be launching its newly acquired thriller Crash Site: A Family in Danger. The 90-minute thriller is about the head of a realty company who suddenly becomes stranded in the wilderness after an accident. The movie comes from Nassar Group and stars Charisma Carpenter of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
