ATHENS: National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has secured expanded distribution for Nat Geo Wild HD, which launches today in Greece on the Nova pay-TV platform.

The channel’s debut lineup includes Secrets of the Mediterranean: Cousteau’s Lost World, a profile following National Geographic Explorer Enric Sala and Jacques Cousteau’s son Pierre-Yves as they launch an expedition around the Mediterranean Sea in Cousteau’s legendary vessel the ‘Alcyone’; Raptor Force, a trip with nature’s deadliest aviators; Lion Ranger, which follows Kevin Richardson’s bond with lions in South Africa; and Cuba: Accidental Eden, a venture into a beautiful, yet untouched natural environment.

Nat Geo Wild HD is the latest of NGCI’s channels to launch in Greece, following on National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel HD, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Music.

“Since Nat Geo Wild’s launch in 2006, the channel has enjoyed tremendous success as it launches throughout key markets, and NGCI is pleased to capitalize on this momentum by offering a first-class viewing experience in HD in Greece,” said Jesús Perezagua, the president for Fox International Channels Europe.
