MIPTV Selects Content 360 Finalists

PARIS: The sixth edition of MIPTV’s Content 360 competition has 18 creators of digital formats, online games, rich media tablet and smartphone applications in the running for awards.

A total of 157 projects and videos were submitted this year, from 29 countries, across four new categories. The 18 chosen finalists include representatives from 11 countries, with the biggest contingent coming from the U.S., followed by the U.K., Canada, Malaysia, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Venezuela, Singapore and South Korea.

For Interactive & Cross Media Digital Entertainment Formats, the finalists are Go to the Answer (The Connected Set, U.K.), Trix & Trax (Ven a Kite, Venezuela), Un1que (Pop Monkey Productions, U.S.) and Give Me a Dollar! (Ed-Online Technologies, Malaysia). For Online and Social Games, the contenders are Twar: Twitter War (Twar, U.S.), Spartacus: Gods of the Arena Social Media Game (Starz, U.S.), Reehborn3 (3DDUO, France), Sports Vision (ODD1 Inc., Canada) and Home Sheep Home (Aardman Digital, U.K.). Rich Media Tablet and Social TV Apps finalists are Raja Lawak (Astro Entertainment, Malaysia), Bring it home! (Telston, South Korea), BeyondTV (Aleph, Singapore), Sesame Street: Join the Brand (Sesame Workshop, U.S.) and Roma Virtual History (Applix/Mondadori, Italy). In the category for Smartphone App for Youth Engagement, those nominated as finalists are Media Undone smartPhone Apps (PinkPom Digital, Canada), This is me (Twentysix, U.K.), Sexy Inc. (Australian Documentaries, Australia) and Sexy Inc: Diss the hypersexualisation Pimps (Appsfactory, Germany).

All the finalists will pitch their projects to a panel of executives at MIPTV during live pitch sessions. The winners in each category will be announced on April 6, during an award ceremony.

This year the App and Online Games & Social TV juries have been joined by Disney Online’s Julie Adair, France Televisons’ Bruno Patino, MTV Networks’ Philip Bourchier O’Ferrall, Nokia’s Gerard Gecht and Samsung’s Daniel Sanders.
