SILVER SPRING: Anatomy of a Disaster, a one-hour special from Discovery Networks International, turns the spotlight on the dual natural disaster that struck Japan last week.

The special will provide a full 360-degree view of the global events following the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami that devastate the east coast of Japan. Starting with the initial rumblings in the Pacific and capturing the worldwide response efforts, the special on Discovery Channel and Science Channel will profile the destructive power of nature, along with looking at mankind’s ability to adapt and survive.

Anatomy of a Disaster will premiere on Discovery Channel and Science Channel in the U.S., as well as Discovery’s networks around the world, starting in April.

"Anatomy of a Disaster will offer a one-of-a-kind look into today’s epic natural tragedy and depict a race against time, from the first wave to hit Sendai, to acts of incredible heroism,” said Luis Silberwasser, the executive VP and chief content officer at DNI.
