TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with HBO and Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Cooper’s Town Productions for the new drama series Upstate.

The show centers on Roy Perkins, who relocates his family to rural America after he is laid-off. Perkins becomes a correctional officer in a new private prison run for profit. The town and his family prosper, while he encounters conflict and danger both inside and outside the prison walls.

eOne Television’s Michael Rosenberg and Cooper’s Town Productions’ Philip Seymour Hoffman and Emily Ziff are executive producers. Brett C. Leonard & Bob Glaudini are writers and executive producers.

This is the second partnership between eOne and HBO, following on Hung, which was renewed for a third season that will air in the premium channel’s summer lineup.
