LONDON: Fireworks International is to become Content Television as part of its parent company’s rebrand as Content Media Corporation plc.

Content Television will be one of three divisions at Content Media, alongside Content Film (formerly ContentFilm International) and Content Digital, now a standalone division. Greg Phillips will continue to oversee Content Television and Content Digital, with Content Film under Jamie Carmichael. Day-to-day management of Content Digital will be overseen by Jonathan Ford, reporting to Phillips.

Phillips tells World Screen that the creation of the three new rebranded divisions "will allow us to really play to our strengths in each separate arena and provide a holistic approach to acquisition and distribution where this is most relevant. For producers, we have the depth of expertise and the flexibility to work across divisions to devise the best distribution model for each individual property and, for broadcasters, we are able to offer truly multiplatform titles that have the ability to maximize audience engagement and revenue across every communication channel they use with their audience."

“It was anachronistic to call the parent company, ContentFilm, so we’ve let that go," said John Schmidt, the CEO of Content Media Corporation. "We have been called Content by our staff and the industry for some time, and we’ve brought the Content name to the television division, so everyone knows we operate in all three areas, particularly our film friends in North America who are increasingly looking to expand into television. We say goodbye to the Fireworks brand with some sadness but guarantee that the same strong values, staff and systems will continue uninterrupted at Content Television.”
