MUNICH/CANNES: In preparation for MIPTV, Bavaria Media Television is highlighting a number of new productions from Germany, as well as other European countries.

Bavaria Media will be offering Alpha 0.7: The Enemy Within, a sci-fi thriller produced by Germany’s Zeitsprung Entertainment. The show takes place in Stuttgart in 2017 and features a woman who is unknowingly part of a neurological experiment, in which someone controls her thoughts. In Germany, Alpha 0.7 has been successful as a combination of a classic TV series with a play for radio and accompanying Internet elements.

Also from Germany, the made-for-TV movie Carl and Bertha Benz, which stars Felicitas Woll of Dresden and Ken Duken of War and Peace, will be on offer. The movie centers on the story of automobile-inventor Carl Benz and his wife Bertha as the couple sets off on the first long-distance trip in a vehicle.

From Switzerland, comes Life, Uncorked, a 20×26-minute series about a young, urban woman raising her children according to healthy, but rigid principles, who must change careers after inheriting a vineyard in the countryside. The show, a co-production from Rita Productions and La Télévision Suisse Romande, was created by Stéphane Mitchell and Pauline Gygax and directed by Pierre-Antoine Hiroz.
