BBC-Showtime Co-Pro Lands International Pickups

LONDON: The BBC-Showtime co-production Episodes, featuring Friends star Matt LeBlanc, has been sold by Hat Trick International into 186 countries worldwide.

Episodes comes from the writing partnership of Friends co-creator David Crane and Mad About You co-producer Jeffrey Klarik. The show features a married writing team with a British TV hit, who then move to Hollywood to remake the series for a U.S. network.

Among the broadcasters to snap up the series are Channel Nine in Australia, Kanal 5 in Sweden, TV2 in Denmark, TVNorge in Norway, FOX in Russia, Turner Latin America and HBO in Central Europe.

Sarah Tong, the director of sales at Hat Trick International, said: “Episodes has certainly lived up to expectations. It’s been incredibly well received internationally thanks to its stellar cast and clever script. Episodes takes the lid off Hollywood in a witty and insightful way like no other show before and this has proved a topic of worldwide fascination.”
