MGM Appoints New President of Domestic TV Distribution

LOS ANGELES: John Bryan has been upped to president of domestic television distribution for MGM, from his current post as executive VP of domestic television for the studio.

Bryan joined MGM in 2006 and is the creator of its This TV network, a free premium channel that serves over 85 percent of all broadcast households in the U.S. In his new role as president, Bryan will continue working on This TV and the launch of sister channel ME TV. He will also help expand MGM’s prospects in first-run syndication and grow its domestic channels business and television activities with MGM’s film and TV library.

Prior to MGM, Bryan spent 17 years at Buena Vista Television, where he rose to executive VP of sales, and was involved with the launches of such shows as According to Jim, My Wife and Kids, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Home Improvement.
