TORONTO: DHX Media has sold three seasons of its teen live-action comedy The Latest Buzz into the U.S. market, scoring a pickup from Starz.

The 62×22-minute sitcom follows five 14-year-old writers who work at a youth magazine during their eighth period at school. The show was an original commission for Canada’s Family Channel and has also been sold to Boomerang in the U.K., Cartoon Network in Scandinavia, Nickelodeon Spain, Germany’s SUPER RTL and Cartoon Network and MBC in the Middle East.

Josh Scherba, the senior VP of distribution, said: “This latest acquisition from Starz shows how The Latest Buzz continues to be a success. The well-written live action format with its engaging characters and relevant story lines has enabled us to build a strong international fan base in a challenging age group, across all territories.”
