BSkyB Appoints Factual Entertainment Chief

LONDON: BSkyB has tapped Mark Sammon to serve as its head of factual entertainment, working across the platform’s portfolio of entertainment channels.

Overseeing factual entertainment on Sky1, Sky Living, Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts, Sammon reports to Stuart Murphy, director of programs at Sky1 HD, Sky Atlantic HD and Sky1, 2 & 3 and director of commissioning at Sky Entertainment. He comes to Sky following its acquisition of the LIVING TV group of networks, where he was head of commissioning.

“Mark has enormous passion and a very sharp eye for original content—exactly the sort of judgment we pride ourselves on at Sky," Murphy said. "I’m thrilled he joins the team at a hugely exciting time as we continue our commitment to U.K. production."
