MTVNI Kids’ Programming Lands in LatAm

LONDON: A host of Latin American broadcasters have signed up for kids’ programing from MTV Networks International (MTVNI), which also scored new deals and renewals for its animated comedy Penguins of Madagascar. 

Ecuavisa in Ecuador renewed Rugrats for seasons on to nine, including three specials, and renewed seasons one through three of the preschool series Go, Diego, Go! Teledoce in Uruguay opted for Back at the Barnyard. Teletica in Costa Rica picked up Back at the Barnyard, Go, Diego, Go!, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, The Mighty B! and Wonder Pets!

Artear in Argentina took seasons one through three of Avatar: The Last Airbender, plus special episodes in the franchise, as well as seasons one through three of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius and Back at the Barnyard season two. Mexico’s Televisa signed up for season one of Fan Boy and Chum Chum and season two of Back at the Barnyard, along with episodes 140 to 152 of SpongeBob SquarePants. 

Jamaica’s TV Jamaica bagged season two of Rugrats, season two of Rocket Power and seasons six and seven of Fairly Odd Parents. In Chile, Megavision went for Ni Hao Kai-Lan episodes 101 to 110.

Colombia’s Provideo signed a deal on behalf of RCN in Colombia for Fairly Odd Parents seasons five and seven, as well as for renewals and new episodes of SpongeBob. In Peru, America TV took episodes and complete seasons of Back at the Barnyard, Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob SquarePants. Monte Carlo TV in Uruguay picked up new episodes of Fairly Odd Parents from seasons five and six. Also in Uruguay, Canal 10/SAWTA scooped up Avatar: The Last Airbender seasons one through three, plus specials The Legend So Far and The Legend Continues.

MTVNI has also signed a slew of international deals on Penguins of Madagascar. Switzerland’s RSI picked up season one, with TSR also signing up for the series. Norway’s NRK is on board for the comedy. Ireland’s RTE took episodes 120 to 126 of seasons one and two. In the Asia Pacific, TVB picked up the show for Hong Kong and Thailand. Thailand’s TV7 also went for the show. China’s CCTV bagged Penguins as well. The series is heading to French-speaking Africa through a deal with Atlantic Pictures.
