Sony Latin America Picks Up Fireworks Fare

MIAMI: Fireworks International has licensed a range of content to Sony Pictures Entertainment Networks Latin America, including Vuguru’s Pretty Tough and the Animal Planet series Freak Encounters.

The three-year deal kicks off in April and covers the pay-TV and Internet and mobile VOD rights to a selection of titles that will air on Sony’s outlets in South and Central America. The slate includes the 20×4-7 minute and the 90-minute TV movie versions of Pretty Tough, the young adult drama from Vuguru based on the novel by Liz Tigelaar; 200×5-minute and 40×30-minute webisodes of The Cut, an HD drama produced for the BBC; and the non-fiction 16×30-minute HD reality series Freak Encounters.
