Latin American Deals for FME

MIAMI: FremantleMedia Enterprises has scored a host of deals in Latin America, including sales of the new seasons of American Idol and Project Runway.

Season ten of American Idol will air on Sony in Central and South America and the Caribbean, and Discovery Latin America has snapped up season seven of Project Runway, as well as seasons six and seven of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. In addition, Turner Broadcasting  has taken the Spike TV shows Deadliest Warrior and 1000 Ways to Die.

Plus, Chilean broadcaster TVN is on board for a version of The X Factor, which is in production for a March debut. In addition, Telefe has renewed Got Talent, known locally as Talento Argentino, for a a fourth season this year.

Sheila Aguirre, FME’s senior VP of sales for Latin America and Hispanic-speaking USA, commented, “The breadth and quality of the FME catalogue means that we have something for everyone and we’re delighted to have made these great programs available for Latin American viewers. We’re looking forward to a productive NATPE and more sales.”

At NATPE, FME is showcasing the British drama Kidnap and Ransom, the Australian dramas Killing Time and Cops L.A.C., the two-hour special March of the Dinosaurs, Oliver Stone’s 13-part doc series The Untold History of the United States, Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Meals in Minutes and the comedy series PhoneShop.
