SANTA CLARITA: The Romanian format Miss Country Girl is being represented for the international market by Small World IFT.

The format, produced by Media Factory, premiered on Prima TV in September 2010. The series has already scored a renewal for two additional seasons with the ProSiebenSat.1 Media-owned channel. The format challenges celebrities to find the most beautiful women from rural villages and transform them into beauty queens fit for the runway. The show culminates in a live pageant from the capital city.

Small World IFT will launch the format at NATPE.

“We just love this format,” said Small World’s president, Tim Crescenti. “It has that fish out of water theme we specialize in but also a tremendous heart, fantastic humor, celeb pizazz and uniquely aspirational.  The series has kicked ass in Romania! Even better is working with the talented and good people at Media Factory.”

Adds Marius Toader, the creative director of Media Factory, added, “I think that the viewers were intrigued with Miss Country Girl because it is both a competition and a makeover show. It is an unpredictable and positive show with a happy-end that can really change a girl’s life. If you will, Miss Country Girl is a sort of Cinderella story, set in the countryside. For us it is a great opportunity and an honour that Tim Crescenti and his amazing team chose us as partners in this journey.”
