HONG KONG: Pay-TV platform TVB Pay Vision is launching a new movie network this weekend featuring, among other titles, current and upcoming productions from Shaw Studios.

Shaw Studios’s movies will make their exclusive television premieres on the new 24-hour movie channel, TVB Movies. The lineup will deliver the best of Hong Kong cinema, as well as titles from other parts of Asia. The grid also includes Perfect Wedding, Shaw Studios’ Turning Point, the Infernal Affairs trilogy, Wong Kar Wai’s Days Of Being Wild, and Stephen Chow’s slapstick comedies.

“Movies have always been a key driver in the pay TV business and we are excited to finally have our own movie channel that specifically caters for the Hong Kong audience,” said Jason Siu, deputy CEO of TVB Pay Vision. “Our close ties with Shaw Studios and other film production companies and distributors further strengthen our commitment to the fledgling channel.”
