TORONTO: Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Werner Herzog’s 3D film of the oldest known pictorial creations of humankind, will be screened at History Makers on January 28.

For the film, Herzog was given exclusive access to the Chauvet Cave in Southern France, the site of these 30,000-year-old paintings. The art had been incorporated by its painters into the bulges and contours of the cave, leading Herzog to pursue 3D for the project.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams is produced by Creative Differences in partnership with HISTORY Films and The French Ministry of Culture and Communication as a co-production with Arte France and in association with More 4. The documentary is produced by Erik Nelson and Adrienne Cuiffo with executive producers Dave Harding, David McKillop, Julian P. Hobbs, Molly Thompson and Tabitha Jackson.
