TORONTO: At the upcoming History Makers Summit, Bill Moyers and Simon Schama are scheduled to deliver keynote speeches, addressing the challenges and opportunities facing factual broadcasting today.

Moyers has been in broadcast journalism for more than 40 years. With his production company, Public Affairs Television, he has produced such landmark series as Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, NOW With Bill Moyers and Bill Moyers Journal, as well as acclaimed documentaries including Trading Democracy, Free Speech for Sale and Surviving the Good Times.

Schama is the professor of Art History and History at Columbia University. He has worked as a writer-presenter on a slew of BBC and PBS programs.

"I could not be more pleased to welcome Bill Moyers and Simon Schama to this year’s event," said Bill Nemtin, the executive producer of History Makers. "Both Mr. Moyers and Professor Schama are outstanding public intellectuals whose groundbreaking projects have made an inestimable contribution to Factual broadcasting as a whole. I cannot think of two individuals with more unique, compelling, and challenging viewpoints to bring to our delegates."

"It is also particularly fitting that Professor Schama will be joining us on History Makers’ tenth anniversary," Nemtin continued. "He delivered an extremely memorable keynote presentation that kicked off our very first summit a decade ago. We are proud to have him back with us ten years later. He cares deeply about history and his programs are unique in their style and content."
