E! & Ryan Seacrest Unveil New Dance Reality Series

LOS ANGELES: The newest docu-series from Ryan Seacrest Productions is The Dance Scene (working title), which will debut on E! on April 10 as a weekly half-hour show.

The eight-episode series follows choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson, whose talent roster includes Diddy, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga. The show will focus on her and her troupe of aspiring dancers and choreographers.

Seacrest will serve as executive producer on behalf of his Ryan Seacrest Productions company, with Amber Mazzola also signed up as an exec producer.

Lisa Berger, the executive VP of entertainment programming for E!, said, “The competitive world of the professional dancer is grueling creative work.  Watching Laurieann mentor these young artists, who will do anything to make it in the business, gives us a glimpse into a world where the pursuit of success and excellence outweighs all else.”

Seacrest added: "Dance is at the center of pop culture—today more than ever—and Laurieann is an amazing force accelerating this huge wave of creativity. This series gives audiences an insider’s view of how competitive the dance world is, the talent and ambition that a dancer needs to be successful in the Hollywood scene, and the drama that ensues along the way."
