BBC HD Expands Turkish Reach

LONDON: A host of new distribution deals are expanding the availability of BBC HD across Turkey.

The channels, which offers documentaries, entertainment and arts programming, is now part of Turkish IPTV platform TTNET’s IPtivibu. The service also just launched as part of the Family package on DTH operator D-Smart in Turkey.

Ian McDonough, the senior VP and general manager for EMEA at BBC Worldwide Channels, said: "I am delighted that BBC HD is now available to a wider Turkish audience through these new agreements with TTNET and D-Smart. This is a fantastic achievement for our young business here, with the channel making its Turkish debut just six months ago and is now available through three major operators. BBC HD offers viewers unbeatable picture and sound quality, giving a true home-cinema experience.”
