TORONTO: The Chicago Code, from creator Shawn Ryan, is set to premiere on Global in simulcast with FOX on February 7, as part of the Canadian channel’s new Monday night lineup.

Ryan is also behind The Shield and The Unit. The new cop show puts viewers into the passenger seat of a squad car to observe the workday of a police officer navigating crime and corruption within the city of Chicago.

Wednesday nights will feature Off the Map, the highly anticipated new drama from the creators of Grey’s Anatomy. The series debuts on January 12 in simulcast with ABC. The medical drama follows a group of young doctors struggling with the challenges of working in a remote clinic.

"Among the wealth of popular series returning over the next few months, Global’s prime-time lineup is further strengthened with the premieres of The Chicago Code and Off the Map," said Barb Williams, the senior VP of content at Shaw Media. "These are smart and engaging dramas featuring compelling characters. We knew from the start they’d be a great fit with our schedule, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they resonate with our viewers."

Additional premieres include Winter Wipeout, coming January 6. The series puts a cold-weather twist on the popular obstacle course competition. Bob’s Burgers, a new half-hour animated comedy, joins the Sunday lineup starting January 9.

Global will also broadcast the 36th annual People’s Choice Awards on January 5 and the 17th annual SAG Awards on January 30. The Grammys air live on February 13.

Kitchen Nightmares returns in a fourth run on January 21, with chef Gordon Ramsay bringing in a new crop of troubled restaurateurs. Glee will have a special episode following Super Bowl XLV on February 6. The show then returns to its regular Tuesday 8 p.m. time slot as of February 9.

Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice both return for new seasons in February and March, respectively.
