Nick Preps New Comedy

NEW YORK: Nickelodeon, which is set to end 2010 as the highest-rated basic-cable network in total day for the 16th straight year, has given the greenlight to a new comedy series, Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures, from Tom Lynch for launch in Q1 2011.

Nick ranks as top cable network in total day among total viewers and all kid demos, according to Nielsen Media Research, and is averaging 2.3 million viewers 2+. For first quarter 2011, the channel has picked up the new multi-camera buddy comedy series Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures from exec-producer Tom Lynch. Production kicks off in Los Angeles this month for a February premiere in the U.S. and around the world. Also coming to Nick in early 2011 are Power Rangers Samurai, House of Anubis, the CGI preschool animation Bubble Guppies, and Supah Ninjas, a comic book-style action comedy series.

Marjorie Cohn, president of original programming and development at Nickelodeon, commented, "We’re excited to be kicking off the new year with a vibrant slate of homegrown and proven acquired properties. The variety of these new series will super-serve our audience with something new for everyone."
