LONDON/MOSCOW: The first online distribution of the hit Comedy Central series South Park in Russia has been licensed to Zoomby.ru, via a deal between MTV Networks International (MTVNI) and OJSC WebTV.

Season 14 of South Park is available free to users online at Zoomby.ru, which is the first website that has been licensed to distribute the adult animated comedy on the market. The show was created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and has been a hit on Comedy Central in the U.S.

Inna Kuzyakova, the marketing director for WebTV, commented: “For Zoomby.ru, co-operation with MTVNI is the first partnership with an international major. It is an important achievement to bring one of the most popular comedy animated sitcoms to the Russian Internet. And of course, working with one of the world’s leading media companies is a great experience for us, and we look forward to working with MTVNI on other projects.”

Nicholas Walters, the general manager for Russia at MTVNI, said, "We see huge potential in expanding our legal distribution in Russia to reach wherever users want to watch our shows whether by television, video on demand, online or mobile. Our partnership with Zoomby is hence an important step in this direction and we look forward to seeing a lot more to come."
