Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas to Air Niñas Mal

MIAMI: MTV Latin America’s prime-time hit Niñas Mal is headed to the U.S., with Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas set to launch the series in January 2011.

 

The series, inspired by the Mexican film of the same name, tells the story of three high-society girls who challenge the mold set by their parents. The families send the girls to charm school in the city, where their experience brings the girls together and increases their rebelliousness.
 
Ahead of the launch, Tr3s has slated a sneak-peek episode and specials to air on December 11. Starting at 2 p.m., the channel will debut the feature film Niñas Mal, a special on the making of the Niñas Mal series follows at 4:30 p.m. Then at 5 p.m., the channel will air a sneak-peek episode.
 
"The show’s MTV spin on the traditional novela has been a smash in Latin America and we’re totally fired up to bring it to the U.S.," said Charlie Singer, the senior VP of content and creative for Tr3s. "Its creative attitude fuses Latin American and U.S. approaches, making it a perfect property for our bi-cultural U.S. audience."
