LOS ANGELES: Ahead of its January market, NATPE has already sold approximately 80 percent of the suite space at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami, with more than 500 buyers expected to be on hand.

“We’ve seen tremendous excitement in advance of NATPE 2011 and the international buzz confirms our strategic decision to make Miami our new home,” said Rick Feldman, NATPE’s president and CEO. “It will certainly be a very busy week for exhibitors and buyers. We’re happy to provide tools like NATPE Connect and the Online Show Guide that will further enhance the NATPE experience to make for a highly productive conference.”

NATPE Connect is an online social network site, being launched in December, that will allow conference attendees to search and browse a complete director of delegates. They can also build and share professional profiles, connect and communicate with other attendees, send and receive messages, set up meetings and export personalized scheduled to Outlook Calendar or iCalendar. The NATPE Online Show Guide is a multimedia platform, accessible via mobile apps, a website and on-site touch screens. The Guide provides information on sessions and speakers, as well as maps, exhibitor content and other conference tools. They will be located in five areas throughout the Fontainebleau.

Among the exhibitors already slated for NATPE are 20th Century Fox Television Distribution, BBC Worldwide, CBS Television Distribution, Debmar-Mercury, Discovery, Disney Media Networks, FremantleMedia, Globo TV, Lionsgate, MarVista, MGM, NBC Universal, Shine International, Sony Pictures Television, Telemundo, Televisa, Venevision and Warner Bros.

Buyers set to be on hand include TF1 of France, ProSiebenSat.1 of Germany, Channel 4 from the U.K. and a host of U.S. cable buyers and TV stations, including the CBS Station Group, Cox Media Group, Hearst, ION Media Networks and Meredith Corp.
