DRG Bags Special on Royal Couple Kate & William

LONDON: DRG has picked up the international distribution rights for the ITV2 special Kate & Wills: A Royal Love Story, which spotlights the recently engaged royal couple.

The one-hour special, produced by ITN Productions, charts the highs and lows of the last eight years of the relationship between prince William and Kate Middleton. Patrick Roberts, the senior VP of international sales at DRG, said, “We’re thrilled to be launching to international broadcasters this fun and insightful up-to-the-minute TV special chronicling the relationship and engagement of this decade’s most talked about love story. This definitive guide includes fascinating footage and interviews with Kate’s best friend from school, the couple’s friends from their time at university and a plethora of Royal expert commentators and observers.”

In other news from DRG, the company sold the Channel 4 prime-time property series Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare to XYZnetworks to air exclusively on The LifeStyle Channel in Australia and TVNZ in New Zealand. The 3×1-hour series, produced by Renegade Pictures, watches as property expert Sarah Beeny offers advice to first-time developers, attempting to save a near-derelict 18th-century stately home and open it up as a luxury events venue. Roberts commented, “This fantastic new series will soon be heading into multiple major markets around the world and we’re delighted to confirm XYZnetworks and TVNZ as our first partners…. This is property restoration supersized. It’s also incredibly relevant and inspiring in the current climate as Sarah attempts to make this decaying property a commercially viable, wedding venue, ready to host its first special wedding. All against the clock. All against a very small budget.”
