NBC Shakes Up Midseason Schedule, Renews 30 Rock

UNIVERSAL CITY: NBC has announced a series of changes for its midseason schedule, which will see the recently renewed 30 Rock moving to a 10 p.m. slot on Thursdays.

The freshman action-drama The Cape leads off with a special two-hour premiere on Sunday, January 9, at 9 p.m. An encore broadcast will run on Monday, January 10, with new episodes to take a regular Monday time period starting January 17. The Event, which is being pulled off the schedule until midseason, returns with a two-hour episode on February 28, taking a regular 9 p.m. slot on March 7. The new drama Harry’s Law makes its premiere at 10 p.m. on January 17. Parenthood returns January 4, moving to Mondays as of March 7 at 19 p.m. with fresh episodes for a second season. Chuck continues at 8 p.m. on January 17.

For Tuesdays, The Biggest Loser: Couples makes its debut January 4 at 8 p.m. Law & Order: Los Angeles moves to Tuesdays at 10 p.m. starting February 8.

The Wednesday lineup will see Minute to Win It returning at 8 p.m. as of January 5. The freshman drama Chase takes over at 9 p.m. starting January 12. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit moves to a new time, starting with a special two-hour episode at 9 p.m. on January 5, before taking a regular slot at 10 p.m. the next week. America’s Next Great Restaurant premieres at 9 p.m. on March 16.

The Thursday night comedy roster kicks off January 20 with Community at 8 p.m., followed by the brand-new comedy Perfect Couples at 8:30 p.m. The office continues in its 9 p.m. period, to be followed by Parks and Recreation at 9:30 p.m. 30 Rock takes a 10 p.m. slot, leading into the freshman comedy Outsourced at 10:30 p.m. NBC recently announced 30 Rock‘s renewal through 2011-12. 

Fridays feature the return of Who Do You Think You Are?, launching January 21 at 8 p.m. Sundays have The Marriage Ref back for a second run as of March 6. The series will air at 8 p.m., followed by The Celebrity Apprentice in a 9 p.m. slot, also launching March 6.
