Australia’s LifeStyle YOU Commissions Two Specials on Sexuality

SYDNEY: Southern Star Entertainment has been tapped by XYZnetworks’ LifeStyle YOU to produce a series of two one-hour specials, Secret Sex Lives of Australian Men and Women, to air on December 6.

The docs go inside the bedrooms of real Australians to get the stories of real-life sexuality from everyday people. The specials will feature candid interviews, revealing experiences ranging from racy to heartbreaking. Commentary is provided by sexuality researcher and author Dr. Kath Albury, whose insights provide social and historical context. The series is produced by Southern Star Entertainment in collaboration with Tindale Road Films and will premiere on LifeStyle YOU in December 2010.

“When we launched LifeStyle YOU last November we wanted a channel that really exposed personal journeys,” said Nicole Sheffield, the general manager of the LifeStyle channels. “Time and time again our research showed us that Australians wanted to see more programs looking at sex; it’s a normal part of adult life. This was something we really wanted to produce for our viewers.”

“These eye-popping, jaw-dropping specials showcase amazing true confessions by some truly amazing Australians,” added Courtney Gibson, the director of programs at Southern Star Entertainment.
