Showtime Opens Up for Broadband Video Streaming

NEW YORK: Showtime Anytime is a new online service from Showtime Networks that allows subscribers of the premium pay-TV channel to access more than 400 hours of programming, movies and sports offerings for broadband streaming.

Subscribers can either go to ShowtimeAnytime.com, launching commercially later this year, or gain access their their operator’s TV Everywhere portal. Users will be able to browse the service online, but must be an authenticated Showtime subscriber to watch any of the programming. Comcast customers can access Showtime Anytime now through Xfinity TV’s online portal at XfinityTV.com

This gives access to shows such as Dexter, Weeds, Californication, Nurse Jack, The Big C, United States of Tara and the upcoming comedy and drama series Episodes, Shameless and The Borgias. Subscribers can also access movies, including The Hurt Locker, Ingloriuos Basterds, Twilight, Quantum of Solace and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. The service also provides a mix of comedy specials, documentaries and sports programming, including Showtime Championship Boxing, Inside Nascar and Strikeforce Challengers Mixed Martial Arts.
