Sanctuary Heads to U.K.’s Watch

LONDON: UKTV has picked up the exclusive rights to the third season of Sanctuary from Syfy UK for its entertainment channel Watch.

Sanctuary will take a 9 p.m. time slot. The 20×1-hour series follows the adventures of a scientist who holds the secrets to a strange phenomenon of terrifying that hide among the humans. Sanctuary is created by Damian Kindler, produced by My Plastic Badger and the Beedie Group in association with Syfy in the U.S. and the Space Channel in Canada and is distributed by Tricon Films and Television.

Watch’s channel head, Paul Moreton, said, “Watch is delighted to have gained the exclusive rights to the next series of this compelling drama. Sanctuary will help consolidate the success we are enjoying with our other slate of popular entertainment dramas: Doctor Who, Torchwood and Primeval.”

UKTV’s acquisition’s manager, Alexandra Finlay, added, “Sanctuary’s is another blockbuster acquisition with compelling story lines will leave viewers gripped. Together with Primeval, this is perfect autumnal viewing which will ensure Watch continues to go from strength to strength.”
