International Emmy Nominees Announced

CANNES: The nominees for the 38th annual International Emmy Awards have been announced by The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, with the winners to be named at a ceremony in New York City on November 22 hosted by Jason Priestley. 

Best actor nominees are Bob Hoskins for The Street, Sebastian Koch for Sea Wolf, Sid Lucero for Dahil May Isang Ikaw and Leonardo Sbaraglia for Epitafios. The nominees for best actress are Iris Berben for The Krupps: A Family Between War and Peace, Helena Bonham Carter for Enid, Lilia Cabral for Seize the Day and Lerato Moloisane for Home Affairs

In the drama category are Clouds Over the HillEpitafios, The Killing II and The Street. Comedy nominees are Los Simuladores, Peep ShowTalok Hok Chak and Traffic Light. Nominees for best non-scripted entertainment program are CQC, Heston’s Feasts, Remembering School and Run for Money.

The telenovelas Ciega a Citas, Dahil May Isang Ikaw and My Love are all contenders for the coveted statuette. Up for the international award for best show for children & young people are 13 at War, Do-Re-Mi-Factory, Happy Birthday and Shaun the Sheep. In the way of TV movie/mini-series, the nominees are HopevilleMarcel Reich-Ranicki: The Author of Himself, Small Island and Sound & Fury

Award contenders in the category of arts programming are All My Life: Cazuza, Imagine…David Hockney: A Bigger Picture, Personas Inside Out and The World According to Ion B. The documentary nominees are 9/11: Phone Calls from the Towers, Kuarup: The Lost Soul Will Return, Mom and the Red Bean Cake and You Die as You Lived: Roterdam Hospice.
