CANNES: The studio-based game-show format Hunch has been sold by Rive Gauche Television to Endemol in France.

Created by Scott Sternberg and developed by Rive Gauche, Hunch features two contestants playing as a team who are asked a series of simple questions, but the answers aren’t based on facts, but rather on gut feelings. The team can only give one answer, and eight correct answers in a row scores the winner $1 million.

David Auerbach, the president of Rive Gauche Television, commented: “Endemol France’s acquisition of Hunch is an early example of the success of Rive Gauche Television’s strategy to develop original formats outside the U.S. Our goal is create formats that can become low cost original programming and hopefully, long running franchises for our broadcast partners around the world. We are excited to be in business with such a successful company as Endemol in France and expect to be able to announce additional format deals for Hunch and several other new properties shortly."
