Tom Cruise Narrates Starz Doc Celebrating Visual-Effects Giant

CANNES: Industrial Light & Magic, a leader in creating visual effects for the movie industry, is being recognized for its 35-year legacy by Starz in a new documentary, directed by Leslie Iwerks and narrated by Tom Cruise.

Industrial Light & Magic: Creating the Impossible is an hour-long documentary, set to air November 14 on the Encore premium service in the U.S. The project features interviews with filmmakers George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, J. J. Abrams and Jon Favreau, along with actors Samuel L. Jackson and Robin Williams, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer and John Lasseter, the chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) is a division of Lucasfilm and was founded by George Lucas in 1975 to create the visual effects for his space epic Star Wars. ILM has worked on nearly 300 films.

Starz will present the title for international buyers at MIPCOM.
