New Channel from Sony Launches in Asia

SINGAPORE: SPE Networks Asia is adding to its regional channel portfolio with the launch of ONE in Malaysia, featuring a content slate primarily sourced from Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS).

ONE rolls out October 1 in HD on Astro B.yond. The Asian entertainment service complements a portfolio of English-language general-entertainment networks from Sony: AXN, AXN Beyond and Sony Entertainment Television.

“There are many quality Asian entertainment programs that are highly popular among Asian viewers," said Ricky Ow, senior VP and general manager of SPE Networks Asia. "In particular, the Korean fever has been sweeping across Asia. Viewers have been looking at various sources for their Korean entertainment fix, from online, terrestrial TV and DVDs, to a number of pay-TV channels, all of which provide some form of Korean entertainment but do not satisfy the increasing viewing needs. ONE is the 24/7 destination that Korean entertainment fans have been looking for."
