Celestial Names Head of Chinese Operations

HONG KONG: Celestial Pictures has appointed Gillian Zhao Fang as the managing director for China, to be based in Beijing.

Fang is responsible for growing all of Celestial’s business lines in mainland China, including channel distribution, content licensing and film and TV series production. Fang will work to drive distribution of the Shaw Brothers Film Library across all platforms in China. Fang will also focus on developing partnerships with digital platforms and content creators in the region. Further tasks include ramping up Celestial’s TV series and movie production efforts. Fang will also support the programming and distribution teams by sourcing and acquiring content from mainland China for Celestial’s channels and distribution outside of China.
