WEST PALM BEACH: AT&T U-verse has struck up two new carriage deals that add to its number of Spanish-language offerings for the U.S. market, one with Olympusat and another with Alterna’TV.

The deal with Olympusat brings TV Chile and its owned-and-operated network Cine Mexico to AT&T U-verse TV. “With programming created by Latinos, for Latinos with the entire family in mind, TV Chile and Cine Mexicano are prime examples of the well-rounded Spanish-language networks that we have to offer,” said Colleen Glynn, the executive VP and general counsel for Olympusat. “By staying true to the Hispanic audience and understanding its diversity, our Olympusat networks have become very popular among Latinos in the U.S.”

A separate agreement with Alterna’TV sees Once México, CBTV Michoacán and Canal 22 Internacional join the AT&T U-verse lineup. “Our new agreement with AT&T allows us to further engage the Hispanic audience in the U.S. by connecting them with their cultural roots through captivating news, premium entertainment and quality lifestyle programming,” said Clemente Cabello, the general manager at Alterna’TV. “We are very proud to make our programming available on U-verse TV and are confident that their Spanish-speaking subscribers will love the new channels as much as we do.”
