SINGAPORE: A slate of series from NBC Universal are headed to the Universal Networks group in Asia, including Covert Affairs and the upcoming conspiracy thriller The Event.

Universal Networks International has picked up the exclusive first-run basic cable and satellite rights across Asia to current NBC Universal scripted series. The titles are slated to air on Syfy Universal, Universal Channel and DIVA Universal beginning in January 2011. Covert Affairs debuts in the region on DIVA Universal in Q1. Also included are The Event, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Love Bites, Outsourced, The Cape, Outlaw and Perfect Couples.

Raymund Miranda, managing director for the Asia Pacific at Universal Networks International, noted, "The licensing agreement strengthens UNI’s ability to bring great drama series, comedy and movies to Asia audiences. It will further boost UNI channels and give the channels a further competitive edge among the international channels in the region.”
