DeAngelis Lines Up Titanic Series

LOS ANGELES: The 12-hour drama series Titanic: The Untold Story of How it All Began is a new project from The DeAngelis Group (DAP) in association with RAI, The Fremantle Corporation, Future Films UK, Play Productions France, the Irish Film Authority and Wilshire Films USA, to be delivered in time for the 100th anniversary of the ship’s maiden voyage.

The series was conceived by Fabrizio Del Noce and recounts the story of the birth of the Titanic, going back to 1897 when the planning and the construction of the doomed luxury liner first started. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in May 2011 in Ireland, with delivery slated for 2012.

“Audiences worldwide have been fascinated for many decades with the story of the Titanic," said Guido De Angelis, the president of DAP. "In our new television series, we are very proud to bring audiences the untold story of how it all began. The story of the Titanic TV series is told through dramatic events by a vibrant international cast. In addition to the international partners already committed, we are also in negotiations with two major German networks and we anticipate additional broadcasters to sign on very soon.”
