3-D Broadcast of World Cup Final for Singapore

SINGAPORE: Pay-TV platforms SingTel and StarHub, which are sharing the rights to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, are teaming with two resorts to deliver this weekend’s final, between the Netherlands and Spain, in 3D. 

About 1,200 people have been invited to the 3D screenings at Resorts World Singapore and Marina Bay Sands on Sunday. Announcing the event, Edward Ying, SingTel’s chief of content and media services, noted: "This marks yet another significant step in our 3D journey and we are delighted to be able to bring viewers a whole new dimension at the finals of this iconic competition. SingTel is very proud to have the opportunity to dazzle fans with what promises to be a spectacular final match between the Netherlands and Spain and we certainly look forward to bringing more of this thrilling technology to Singaporeans."

Tan Tong Hai, StarHub’s COO, added: "By leveraging the latest state-of-the-art 3D facilities and FIFA’s high quality 3D production of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, we are able to offer viewers the next best thing to watching the games in person.
