New Licensees for Little Charley Bear

LONDON: Chapman Entertainment has signed up two new licensees for its property Little Charley Bear, bringing on board Zap and Worlds Apart.

Acquired by CBeebies, the show is about an imaginative little bear named Charley. He goes on adventures and discovers new things about himself and the world around him.

Zap is producing bedding and accessories, with products to launch in spring/summer 2012. Worlds Apart will focus on my first play and furniture ranges, with products launching next year. The line will include pop up tents, ball pits, interactive electronic mats, my first ready beds, inflatable chairs, flip out sofas, soft storage and my first play desks and stools.

Andy Downie, the marketing director at Zap, commented, “We are delighted to be working with Chapman Entertainment for the first time especially on such a strong preschool property as Little Charley Bear. Cute character and strong imaginative story lines gives this new property all the right ingredients to become a major hit at retail.”

Chapman Entertainment’s commercial and finance director, Andrew Haydon, added, “Zap is a quality supplier of licensed bedding in the U.K., and are very well known and respected in the industry. We are thrilled that Little Charley Bear is to be added to their preschool portfolio. It is also great to be able to refresh our relationship with Worlds Apart (our licensee on Fifi and Roary), and we look forward to building a successful partnership with both companies on Little Charley Bear!”

Lucy Wynn-Jones, the marketing manager at Worlds Apart, said, “Little Charley Bear is a great fit for Worlds Apart, with imagination being key. We are really excited to be working with the team at Chapman on this property.”
