Rob the Robot Sold to Al Jazeera Children’s Channel

OTTAWA: Amberwood Entertainment has licensed the broadcast rights to the new preschool series Rob the Robot to Al Jazeera Children’s Channel for the Middle East.

The 52×11-minute 3D series follows the adventures of Rob and his friends as they explore the planets of Robot Galaxy. The series is a co-production between Canada’s Amberwood Entertainment and Singapore’s ONE Animation. It is produced with support from the MDA, CMF and the Shaw Rocket Fund.

“We are delighted to be working with Al Jazeera Children’s Channel,” said Jonathan Wiseman, the senior VP at Amberwood. “They are a great partner for the region and we look forward to Rob joining their lineup.”

Rob the Robot is currently in production, with a Canadian launch slated for this fall. The show was commissioned by Canada’s TV Ontario. SRC, Knowledge Kids and Access are also on board.
