LONDON: Impossible Pictures has finished the fourth season of Primeval, with filming on the fifth installment to wrap in late November.

Through a co-production deal with ITV, UKTV, ProSieben and BBC Worldwide, Primeval will return to ITV1 in early 2011 in its fourth season, which will then air on UKTV’s Watch shortly after. Watch will debut the fifth season later in the year, followed by ITV1. The two seasons will have 13 episodes in total. BBC Worldwide holds all international distribution rights to the show, excluding Germany, where ProSieben continues to broadcast Primeval. BBC America will air the new seasons in the U.S., as it did with the first three.

Executive producer Tim Haines commented on the filming of season four: “The cast and crew have been brilliant and they have put in a huge effort over the past four months to deliver some amazing work. We have also been very lucky in that Dublin has afforded us some fantastic new locations and the fact that we’ve filmed in HD for the first time means that the production values are higher than ever.”

Haines added: “The rough cuts I’ve seen are very exciting and I think we are going to deliver a show that will really please and delight the fans.”
