Cake Boss Gets Spin-Off Series

SILVER SPRING: TLC is launching an eight-episode competition series for talented bakers featuring Cake Boss Buddy Valastro.

The show will feature 10 aspiring cake makers in a series of challenges, with the winner to be awarded an apprenticeship at Hoboken, New Jersey-based Carlo’s Bakery. Casting is currently underway for the show, to be produced by High Noon Entertainment. Shooting is expected to begin in September and the series is currently scheduled to premiere in December.

In its Monday night slot on TLC, Cake Boss is averaging 1.9 million viewers.
