TORONTO/NEW YORK: In this video interview, Marina Cordoni, the head of sales and business development for theatrical and TV movies at Breakthrough Entertainment, discusses the company’s film slate, while Nat Abraham, head of distribution, talks about the successes in the kids’ and factual arenas.

Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment is home to a slate that spans animation, lifestyle fare, documentaries, dramas and comedies and, most recently, TV movies. The company, a division of producer Breakthrough Films & Television, is perhaps best known internationally for its kids’ series, such as Fishtronaut and Jimmy Two Shows, and factual fare like Battlefield Mysteries, but it has been ramping up prime-time scripted offerings as of late, particularly in the TV movie arena. At MIPTV, Breakthrough was showcasing the telefilm franchise Shadow Island Mysteries, which currently includes two 90-minute titles, Wedding for One and The Last Christmas, with more to come.
