Power Pacts with Tele München

LONDON/MUNICH: In what is being billed as the largest ever deal for British drama in the German market, Power and Tele München Gruppe (TMG) have announced plans to partner on all of their major drama productions for the next three years.

The deal is said to be worth about $20 million. The agreement continues an existing relationship between the two companies, after having previously partnered on Power’s The Day of the Triffids, Crusoe and Flood and TMG’s Sea Wolf and Moby Dick.

“This is a huge, landmark deal for Power and comes after a long period of collaboration with TMG in the German speaking markets," said Justin Bodle, Power’s chairman and chief executive. "It is the largest deal of its kind for British drama in Germany and is a testament to Power’s work with TMG in delivering top end, unique drama with some of the largest budgets of their kind.”

Dr. Herbert Kloiber, managing director and owner of TMG, added: “The collaboration with Power will give us a head start in financing, producing and distributing first class event programming for an international audience. This move will present us with unique opportunities to bring out- standing projects to life.”
