LOS ANGELES: Castalia Communications has signed a deal to distribute the Peruvian channel Perú Mágico—operated by Telefónica’s Media Networks Latin America—in the U.S. and North America.

The channel is made up of programming from three of Peru’s leading pay-TV services—Plus TV, CMD and Canal N—which are distributed locally by Telefónica-owned platform Cable Mágico. The Perú Mágico slate includes Peruvian First Division Soccer League matches, general entertainment and current-affairs content.

Werner Schuler, CEO of Media Networks Latin America, commented: “Our unique programming mix of exclusive First Division soccer matches, family-oriented entertainment and up-to-the-minute Peruvian news is sure to be well received by Peruvians now living and working in the United States and Canada.”

Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Castalia Communications, added: "What a great honor it is to be working with Telefónica, the leader in Latin America and the Hispanic world. We are happy to report that we are already in discussions for North American carriage deals and we look forward to announcing those very soon.”
