MANILA: The first season of the FremantleMedia dating format Take Me Out launches in the Philippines this week on GMA Network, where it takes a 5 p.m. half-hour slot Monday through Friday.

The show is hosted by the Philippines’ "Platinum Prince of Soul" Jay-R. Take Me Out watches as a single male enters an arena of 30 single women. The ladies initially hold the power, as they can choose to de-activate a light box in front of themselves to indicate that they are not interested in the man. The tables turn in subsequent rounds, when the man gets to choose from the remaining women whose boxes are still lit. The winning couple’s date will be recorded and shown in following episodes.

FremantleMedia Asia’s CEO, Patrick Schult, said, “I have no doubt that Take Me Out will be a fantastic hit in the Philippines. The format has gathered a huge following across Asia and it’s now traveled multiple territories worldwide through FremantleMedia’s global network, with great success. Take Me Out is a fun, upbeat and vibrant program which is sure to be as popular with audiences in the Philippines as it has been around the world.”
