HONG KONG: Tiger Gate Entertainment’s Thriller and KIX channels launched today on nowTV in Hong Kong and StarHub in Singapore, following their debut in Indonesia last August.

Operated as a joint venture between Lionsgate and Saban Capital Group (SCG), Tiger Gate is rolling the action channel KIX and the thriller/horror/suspense channel Thrill out across Asia. KIX’s lineup includes the recently acquired StrikeForce, which premieres later in the year, as well as the tournament-based Dream, the anime action series Fist of North Star, the action movie The Rebe and action-reality series Fight Girls. About two-thirds of the KIX content will be from across Asia. The slate for Thrill include Pang Brothers’ The Eye trilogy, Roman Polanski’s The Ninth Gate and the Japanese title Shrill Cries of Summer.

“With the successful launch of KIX and Thrill in Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore, Tiger Gate Entertainment is making significant headway in securing a strong Asian footprint and is ready to take viewers to a whole new level of excitement," said William Pfeiffer, the CEO of Tiger Gate Entertainment. "The action and horror/thriller genres are respectively the most popular and the fastest growing genres for audiences in the region. KIX and Thrill combine the best content from Asia with the best from Hollywood and around the world. I am confident that KIX will rapidly become the place for viewers who want Asia’s high-adrenaline action content, while Thrill will be the home for movies that leave audiences screaming for more!"

Expansion plans for the two services include Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, China, India, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and the Middle East.
