Electus Unveils TV & Digital Programming Slate

NEW YORK: Ben Silverman’s Electus is making its inaugural outing at MIPTV, where the company will showcase a range of digital and linear programming for the international market. 

Much Madness is a national food competition, in which competitors from around the world compete across various food divisions in a tournament bracket format. It is the first of three projects that Electus is partnering with Sharp Entertainment on. Electus, Mark Burnett Productions and Bringiton are co-producing Big Time Spender, a Chinese game show, for U.S. audiences. The show features contestants from different backgrounds who compete to be the nation’s smartest shopper. Martin Gisselman, who created and produced the show in China, will serve as a producer for the U.S. version. 

Also on the roster is Hiccups, which Electus picked up the international and U.S. rights for from Canada’s Thunderbird Films. Airing on CTV, the show stars comedian Brent Butt as a disgruntled children’s author with anger management issues. Butt created the series and also serves as executive producer. The competition series Ready, Set, Dance is created by Notional execs Cleve Keller and Dave Noll in partnership with Electus. 

Through its distribution partnership with Israel-based Abbot Reif Hameiri Production Company, Electus holds the international and U.S. rights to the format Cuckoo’s Nest, an interactive game show, and TLV, a format docu-drama about four young people in the 20s. Rounding out the slate is Stylized with Patricia Field, a web series that features the renowned stylist helping ordinary women perfect their look. Electus partnered with actress Vanessa Williams and her producing partner Michael Gruber on the project.

Electus will announce its U.S. scripted slate in the coming weeks.
